Based in Mexico City, Carlos is an active financial consultant for Fintech's and regulated financial entities and participates as independent board member.

In his last corporate role as Country Manager for COFACE, Carlos managed the company for the operational consolidation, development and the consistent and progressive growth of the French Credit insurance company in Mexico.

Previously as ION General Manager; he was responsible for consolidate a company that was formed in 2011 with the objective to address the existing market gap for those individuals with housing needs, who have variable income and mid-market housing developers under served by traditional financing means.

At Scotiabank, Carlos spent 25+ years in different areas; in his last role as Senior Vice President, Retail Banking for Mexico, he was responsible for the areas of Banking Products, Sales & Service, Distribution Channels, Contact Centre and Marketing.

Carlos held progressively senior roles for Scotiabank across the Latin American region, including the Northern Divisional Vice President for Mexico and the Country Head of Scotiabank in El Salvador, a position he held for 3 years prior to taking on his last role in Mexico. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Scotiabank in Costa Rica.

Carlos studied business administration in Mexico and banking in the GSB program at LSU, has a diploma in Banking and Finance from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey ITESM, as well a diploma in Real Estate Management from Harvard Business School.
