John Wittgenstein works from AmropCivitas' Hamburg office as Senior Advisor.

Serving both national and international clients since joining the search industry in 1999, John specializes in private equity/ direct equity investment and he focuses on attracting, retaining and developing leadership and executive talent in the CFO space for private equity held portfolio companies.

He serves clients mainly within the private equity industry, family offices universe, corporate development teams of larger corporations and for alternative asset investors.

His domestic and international professional background as well as his search expertise of over 20 years, has given him extensive experience in calibrating leadership and specialist talent in the finance director space as well as finding professionals for management teams of investors.

Prior to joining AmropCivitas, he held similar positions with Spencer Stuart, TMP Highland Partners, Korn Ferry and Treuenfels.

Before entering executive search, John Wittgenstein held senior management positions within the German corporate banking industry, serving as Managing Director for Bankgesellschaft Berlin's corporate banking activities in Germany. He also spent 15 years with Bayerische Vereinsbank in Munich and Hamburg, as well as working abroad in Paris, New York and London.

John Wittgenstein studied biology at the University of Tübingen.

With dual English and German nationality, John is fluent in German and English and well conversant in French.
